Zero sure knows how to impress a lady though. Episode kinda felt all over the place and seems they really focused on Akira's narrative from his point of view. He's off on another adventure and we got to see plenty of that fantasy world.

More than Hakuto's summoned NPCs like Dr. Yu Kirino who lashes at her patients the usual way, Luna has been the character of note who made the most change for Rabby Village, as Hakuto's fortunes ever so increase from Madam Butterfly helping to help prosper the village.
For now...Hakuto is making good progress...?

This new season after soo many years is significantly worse, the character designs are straight up terrible and there is way too many recaps on stuff shown in season 1.

Also, did anyone else notice they animated a change as to when Haruko gives Angel White the halo? I distinctly remember him giving it to her when he teleports her home, and how it's in the hot spring? Why? Why is that different? It gives such a different vibe. Idk.
I saw another forum where someone posted about the studio did it on purpose for the recap, but we'll see. I'll give the third episode a watch then decide.

I see that many compromises have to be made in order to get this sequel done. At least it's better than nothing! But sometimes nothing is better than something so let's hope this anime won't fall into that category.

What the hell is wrong with this season? The character design looks awful, the characters look all the same, while on season 1 they were very unique. The comedy is weaker, the animation is worse, everything is static. That’s a real downgrade.

How can you like an anime that only has about 5 minutes of new content in 2 episodes and otherwise only recaps.
I'm really starting to wonder how something like this even gets published. We can only hope that the person responsible is never allowed to destroy an anime again.

This feels like a weird choice to me. Why are they recapping so many of the scenes from S1 that were animated better there? The strong points of getting a new series are surely that we get the see the story progress and the better writing. If they keep showing things we've already seen it just highlights the poor animation...

More f@cking flashbacks that slightly differ from the original? And more sh!t character design from Gekkou. Are they purposely trying to make everyone look like crap? A 1950’s Bugs Bunny looks better than this. This could be my first drop of the season, after I was looking forward to the story continuation.

I really do hope this anime changes heavily next episode. Because it feels like a joke of voice acting, sound mixing, and animation to be this bad. Normally I can forgive shows if 1 of the 3 items are bad, but I can't do anything if I can barely hear the words being said not seeing the god awful cookie cutter animation.

This is a season 2 to a show we never got, i dont recognize the animation, or voices..... or anyone but the main mc cause he talks to us.... please stop this and either remake season 1, or call this something else because this is not Maou-sama...... i would like to continue the story im watching, but i get litterally angry watching this steaming pile of hot summer rotting garbage.
I miss having good seasonal anime... where did you go......

I’m pretty sure he did give her the halo while still at the hot spring in s1, i remember he notices she still has it on when they prepare to leave (because she likes it so much 😇) and he has her remove it once they teleport to the holy city, saying it would be dangerous if anyone found out who gave it to her 😈

@saipulipoel Maybe I'll watch it dubbed. She wasn't annoying in dub. Her voice that is, she WAS. LOL Yes, please don't turn into "The Fruit Of Evolution: Season 2." That was a tragic mistake & took a fun parody & made a tedious mess out of it.

Character designs and animations are notably simpler compared to Demon-Lord, Retry. A few characters look startlingly different due to it.
I enjoyed Demon-Lord, Retry enough to continue with R. However, having 2 straight episodes as recaps leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It'll get one more ep from me before it gets dropped at this rate.

Deflecting all the poor animation, pacing, voice acting, sound effects, even the lack of pauses between lines under the guise of "it's just a recap bro". The problem has nothing to do with the fact that it's a recap, it has to do with the fact that the production quality in every single way is atrocious. I don't even have the patience to watch e3, this is a drop at e2 for me.
The only question I have for the japanese peopleis this: WHY? Why did you make this? For who? And what sort of tool would defend this ... thing ... aimed at 10 year old kids when your audience for this 5 year old anime are now all adults?

I understand that they needed to recap last season. That said it has dragged on for 2 episodes. Also, the quality of animation is much lower than last season. I do not understand why they made the main character look older and shabbier than last season.

0/2 so far, not a great start.
It’s like the people in charge of this “season” can’t decide if they want to remake or a sequel season and it shows.
Art style aside(though I’m far from a fan) it took them two episodes to do what 5-10 minutes does for most sequel season regardless of how long it’s been since S1.
I’ll give it my base three episodes before calling a verdict, but at this point, it looks like I’ll be dropping it and forgetting it exists.

Deterioration of art style of season 2 when compared to 1. Yuu, white angel, aku and few more there previous art style was far better. New art style is too soft for the story.
First 2 episodes are recap but even story telling is looking like a step down and with some unnecessary changes like white angel teleportation scene, Kunai's first fight with monster.
Was excited about season 2 but after watching first 2 eps can't say the same.
Can also read manga, decent story and art style.

The complaints I will give folks is the pacing and sound mixing, music is definitely a bit too loud at times and there were a few moments where Kunai would start talking about something and then immediately hop to the next thing with no break, but thankfully that was just a few isolated moments. But the complaints that I don’t get are the redesigns and art style, yeah some characters look quite different but I don’t think they’re bad designs in the slightest, some I think even look better, and that goes for the art style too, I said this last week, Yu and Tahara actually don’t look generic anymore lol, but MAL hating an art style is nothing new so I’m not that surprised.
But man, did people really like season 1 that much? I rewatched it just recently, and although I liked it more on the 2nd watch, that’s because I consider it a “so bad it’s good” show, also it’s nostalgic now lol, but really I think in terms of production it is worse than this season so far. Oh well, MAL has decided this is shit so it is what it is, I’ll be watching and enjoying anyway, poor Gekkou man, hopefully they get back to doing sexy fun shows after this, and this at least has to be better than their summer show, I think it already is personally. And sorry that this post is basically just me defending the show, I’m sure I won’t be making any fans with it lol, hopefully when the show gets to new stuff next week more people will be onboard if they didn’t drop it already, nice to see Kunai is traveling with Mikan and Yukikaze again just like the first season left off.

There was enough comedy as well, entertaining enough.
Especially at the end with Yukikaze travelling with Kunai.
Next episode could be plenty of fun.
I have ADD, ADHD & AUTISM, but this won't stop me. Let's keep having fun together.

Graphics in S1 were not great and now there way worse. Characters look almost squashed down, the Doctor looks childish, Hakuto Kunai looks older and prattles on about how the land there in runs similar to earth like 24 hours a day etc, seems to have forgotten HE MADE the game it was based on. First 2 episodes a total waste of time, not even decent shows spend this much time reviewing there first season. Oh well will watch it but might put it on the watch when finished list.

Yeah, it pretty much takes place after S1 but since we got nearly 2 eps of recap no wonder it confuses the hell out of everyone.
Anyway, now that MC left to the new destination with the trap and that other chick we should get totally new content.

I'm glad this show is taking entire episodes to rehash information we already know from the first season and accomplishing nothing fresh or new.
Not only is the developer sections that are supposed to be pre-isekai WAY too long, they don't add anything of value to the actual story of Hakuto in the other world. Even if the implication is that the other guy that isn't Akira Oono is the one who made the world Akira is trapped in now, he's such a fascinating character, that the original author and animators of this show couldn't be bothered to give him a name.
Point being, this anime is far inferior to the lower-budget seeming first season and takes a lot longer of the viewer's time to accomplish significantly less, especially because it simultaneously pretends the first season does and doesn't exist.
Extremely disappointing, since I was optimistic, but 5.9 for the score (as of me writing this) is generous.

my god...this is just straight up awful. Dr. Yu Kirino had a nice character design in the S1 while here i won't use her not even as a background character that walks around the streets for making traffic. All the characters are forgettable and simple designed, with less detail and more generic appearance...seriously wtf did they have done to Killer Queen? Why changing her hair with that childhish nonsense? Horrible animations, awful character design, 2 entire episodes just for recap, doing even that wrong because they changed a lot of things from S1.. it was not a masterpiece in S1 but still decently enjoyable...why doing something like this? If you have to produce something like this, just don't. Use the money and resources to produce something else.
